Y2K Statement - The Year 2000 effort at the Horn household is proceeding well.  Our family has a systematic plan to update all of our systems and procedures, so that you our friends and relatives will still be able to obtain that needed interaction with us.  We have had teams working the problem for the past 18 months.   The main issue is the toaster.  It has been tested.  We reset all of the clocks in the kitchen then proceeded to toast a whole wheat pita.  It jammed and burned as usual.  Checked the fridge and I am now sure it has no imbedded chips.     On the evening of the 31 December 1999 we will be staying up in order to reprogram our VCR and computer clocks at the stroke of 12.   That is if we still have electricity and water.
