Dead Teen Songs or Teenage Death Music

Lyrics for my Dead teen song webpage.

The Homecoming Queen has Got a Gun
Julie Brown
It was homecoming night at my high school
Everyone was there, it was totally cool
I was so excited, I almost wet my jeans
'Cause my best friend Debbie was homecoming Queen

She looked so pretty in pink chiffon
Riding the float with her tiara on
Holding this humoungous bouqet in her hands
She looked straight out of Disneyland
You know like the Cinderella ride? Definitely an E ticket
{E ticket}

The crowd was cheering, everyone was stoked
It was like the whole school was totally coked, or something
The band was playing "Evergreen"
When all of a sudden, somebody screamed,

"Look out! The homecoming Queen's got a gun!"

Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen's got a gun
Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a gun

Debbie's smiling and waving her gun
Picking off cheerleaders one by one
Oh, Buffy's pompon just blew to bits
Oh no, Mitzi's head just did the splits
God, my best friend's on a shooting spree
Stop it, Debbie, you're embarrassing me!

Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a gun
Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a gun
Stop it, Debbie, you're making a mess
Powder burns all over your dress

An hour later the cops arrived
By then the entire Glee Club had died--No big loss
You should have seen what they brought to stop her
Tear gas, machine guns--even a chopper

"Throw down your gun and tiara and come out of the float."

Debbie didn't listen to what the cop said
She aimed and fired and now the math teacher's dead
Oh, it's really sad, but kind of a relief
I mean, we had this big test coming up next week.

Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has a gun
Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a gun
She's really having a blast
She's wasting half of the class

The cops fired a warning shot that blew her off the float
I tried to scream "Debbie!" but it stuck in my throat
She hit the ground and did a flip, it was real acrobatic
But I was crying so hard I couldn't work my Insta-matic

I ran down to Debbie
I had to find out
Why'd she do it?
What made her freak out?

I saw the bullet had got her right in the ear
It was then I knew the end was near

So, I ran down and I said, in her good ear
"Debbie, why'd you do it?"
She raised her head and said
"I-I did it for Jonny."

Jonny?
Well, like, who's Jonny?
Answer me Debbie, who's Jonny?
Does anybody here know Jonny?
Are you Jonny?
There was one guy named Jonny, but he was a total geek and always had food in his braces
Answer me Debbie who's Jonny?

Oh, god this is like that movie Citizen Kane
You know where you later find out Rosebud was the sled
And now we'll never know who Jonny is,
'Cause, like, she's dead

Everybody run, the Homecoming Queen has got a gun.... repeat to end...

Hayride To Hell - Hoodoo Gurus
(Dave Faulkner)

Charlie was a driver and he hardly spent a night at home.
He rarely saw his family, trucking loads those long weeks on the road.
And Charlie would drive
For miles and miles.

Charlie had a teenage daughter he thought of as a little girl
But one day he came home his little girl had grown-up news to tell.
"Oh Daddy", she cried "Oh Daddy, I tried but on the hayride how I fell
That was a hayride bound for Hell."

Now Billy Jackson was the father but he wasn't man enough to own.
And his daddy was the mayor and he said,
"Charlie, just leave my Billy-boy alone."
Billy had to hide
But there was guilt inside
And you can't hide from yourself.
That's just a hayride bound for Hell.
Charlie's daughter died whilst giving birth to Billy Jackson's child
And Billy Jackson ain't been seen around these parts for quite a while.
And Charlie would drive
For miles and miles
And his tail-lights say farewell
He's a hayride bound for Hell.

Honey
-Artist: Bobby Goldsboro
-the # 16 song of the 1960-1969 rock era
-was # 1 for 5 weeks in 1968
-Words and Music by Bobby Russell (who also wrote "Little Green Apples" and
-"The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia")

See the tree, how big it's grown but friend it hasn't been too long it wasn't big
I laughed at her and she got mad, the first day that she planted, it, was just a twig
Then the first snow came and she ran out to brush the snow away
So it wouldn't die
Came runnin' in all excited, slipped and almost hurt herself
And I laughed till I cried
She was always young at heart, kinda dumb and kinda smart and I loved her so
And I surprised her with a puppy
Kept me up all Christmas Eve two years ago
And it would sure embarrass her
When I came in from workin' late 'cause I would know
That she'd been sittin' there and cryin'
Over some sad and silly late, late show

And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you if only I could

She wrecked the car and she was sad
And so afraid that I'd be mad but what the heck
Though I pretended hard to be
Guess you could say she saw through me and hugged my neck
I came home unexpectedly and caught her cryin' needlessly
In the middle of a day
And it was in the early Spring when flowers bloom and robins sing
She went away

And honey, I miss you and I'm bein' good
And I'd love to be with you if only I could

One day while I was not at home while she was there and all alone
The angels came
Now all I have is memories of Honey and I wake up nights and call her name
Now my life's an empty stage where Honey lived and Honey played
And love grew up
And a small cloud passes overhead and cries down on the flower bed
That Honey loved

And see the tree how big it's grown but friend it hasn't been too long it wasn't big
And I laughed at her and she got mad
The first day that she planted it, was just a twig

Paula Cole - Hush, Hush, Hush

Long white arms
Losing their strength and form
Sixty year man on twenty year old skin
Skeleton, your eyes have lost their warmth
Look to your father for some support

CHORUS:

Hush hush hush
Says your daddy's touch
Sleep sleep sleep
Says the hundredth sheep
Peace peace peace
May you go in peace

Cruel joke you waited so long to show
The one that you wanted wasn't a girl
All your life you kept it hidden inside
Now when you step
You stumble
You die

Chorus

Oh maybe next time
You'll be henry the V3
Wake up tomorrow, alexander the great
Open your eyes in a new life again
Oh maybe next time
You'll be given a chance

Hush hush hush
Hush hush hush
Hush hush hush
Hush hush hush
Hush...

Hey Joe

Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?
Hey Joe, where you goin' with that gun in your hand?
Goin' out to shoot my lady You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
Goin' out to shoot my lady You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man

Hey Joe, you know I heard you shot your woman down
Hey Joe, you know I heard you shot your woman down
Yes, I did, I shot her, you know I caught her messin' 'round
Yes, I did, I shot her, you know I caught her messin' 'round

Hey Joe, where you gonna run to now?
Hey Joe, where you gonna run to now?
I'm gonna run, gonna run, gonna run, to the gallows pole
I'm gonna run, gonna run, gonna run, the hangman can't put a rope around me anyhow...

Paul Evans - Hello This Is Joannie

Hello, this is Joannie, I'm sorry but I'm not home
But if you leave me your name and number
I promise, soon as I get in I'll phone

Joannie, came over to my house last night
I drank a little too much red and we got into a fight
She said I'm leavin' and I let her go alone
I felt so damn bad this morning, I reached right for the phone
And called her right away, to beg her to forgive
The phone rang once, the phone rang twice
And then I heard her say-hey

Hello, this is Joannie, I'm sorry but I'm not home
But if you leave me your name and number
I promise, soon as I get in I'll phone

Joannie, I'm sorry and I'm feelin' oh so small
That was the message that I left and I waited for her call
I waited with a sinkin' feeling in my heart
Not knowin' if she'd forgive me was tearin' me apart
I couldn't go on this way, I had to call again
The phone rang once, the phone rang twice
And then I heard her say-hey

Hello, this is Joannie, I'm sorry but I'm not home
But if you leave me your name and number
I promise, soon as I get in I'll phone

My phone rang and my heart sang, my baby's called at last
Instead it was a friend who said that Joannie's car had crashed
I never should've let her drive home angry from my place
I'd never hold her again and kiss that funny face
But still there was a way to hear her voice again
The phone rang once, the phone rang twice
And then I heard her say-hey

Hello, this is Joannie, I'm sorry but I'm not home
(I'm so sorry Joannie)
But if you leave me your name and number
I promise, soon as I get in I'll phone
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Hello, this is Joannie, I'm sorry but I'm not home
But if you leave me your name and number
I promise, soon as I get in I'll phone
