As a nonsmoker, I don't want my income to go to a company whose profits come from the business of killing people. Philip Morris, king of the cancer sticks, is amazingly diversified in the food and beer markets. They own the Kraft brand name, in addition to many others.

Feel uneasy? Protest with your dollars. Boycott their products so your mind is at rest knowing that you are not inadvertently subsidizing a company based on lies that kill. Here are some products to avoid, with suggested substitutes. If you have other suggestions, feel free to mail me and let me know. All brand names listed below are property of Philip Morris, Inc.

  • Maxwell House - buy beans instead - it's fresher and tastes better
  • Kool-Aid - generic mix tastes the same to me
  • Raisin Bran, Grape-Nuts - yuck - who eats these anyway?
  • Kraft mayonnaise, bbq sauce
  • Altoids - these are good, I admit. Try gum instead though
  • Jell-O - another goodie. Try generic (don't eat Jell-O myself, so I dunno what to suggest)
  • Kraft mac & cheese, Velveeta shells & cheese - damn...those are really good... not sure what to suggest
  • Kraft cheese - buy cheese from the deli section of the store - it tastes better
  • Oscar Mayer products - again, patronize the deli section - it's got less preservatives and tastes better
  • Miller Beer - Bud Light - it tastes better anyway
  • Milwaukee's Best, Mickey's, Olde English 800, Red Dog, Icehouse - get some money and drink real beer that doesn't taste like swill

In any case, that is just a short list. For the complete list of all their brands, see:
