Just who is this guy?

This photograph was taken when I was a pediatric resident on a cardiac surgery medical mission in Quito, Ecuador.

I am a pediatric electrophysiologist at Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. I finished a combined pediatric and adult EP fellowship at Stanford University and University of California San Francisco in 2003-2004. I did a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. (If you must know, fellowship is subspecialty training after finishing residency and med school. It is mainly done by those who are really masochistic.) Before spending 2000-2003 in Cincinnati for my pediatric cardiology training, I did my general pediatrics internship and residency from 1997-2000 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, an affiliate program of the UCLA School of Medicine.

I received my doctorate in medicine from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. This has changed names a number of times since I left there, so we'll just leave it at that. I spent my college years at Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and spent a semester abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland. My bachelors degree was in psychobiology. None of that "pre-med major" stuff for me.

Must...stop...training...

So that's my educational background in a nutshell. There's a lot more to it, but it isn't all that important.

For the really curious, my curriculum vitae is available for perusal
