6/2/2023 I'm alive! The University of Arizona shot their shell/sftp server dead, along with my personal homepage (personal homepages no longer allowed as "official" university sites, anyway). Page is relocated at www.nyx.net/~shunter for as long, I guess, as Nyx can hold out--they are still begging for money, but I've donated the maximum monthly donation I can afford. 12/9/2015 The program to the Memory and Celebration of Roy A. Johnson, Jr. concert held by the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and the Catalina Organ Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 4pm at the Catalina United Methodist Church has been added to the Dr. Johnson memorial gopher directory. 11/6/2014 So, where have you been?! I've been hanging out on Facebook and occasionally Google+. Latest update: gopher interface to Wikipedia included under the Reference Gophers. I suggest Lynx to access it. 2/17/2011 Under the "Parabolic Dome Model Hex Templates" directory (Socially responsible gophers, etc./Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science/Parabolic Domes), you will find the hexagonal templates I used to build my most recent model. I'm tempted to leave the completed model on the floor at the School of Architecture with an anonymous note that reads, "This is the future. Build it!" --but I'll refrain. 11/16/2010 Added the Window Farms link to the Autonomous Dwelling directory. It's a little too DYI for me; but more power to them if they can make it work. 3/6/2010 Of the many discouragements in my life, none are perhaps quite so great as the inability to solve horrible problems when I know what the solution is. The earthquakes in Hati and Chile have caused untold human misery and distruction primarily because they have removed the infrastructure that the local people critically rely on. If autonomous dwelling units had been available, they could have been flown in by the thousands not just to alliviate the suffering, but to transform a disaster area into an unbelivably robust and healthy commmunity literally overnight. The good news is that some are working on this very development, often without knowing explicitly what it might mean. I have placed a link to the UA News article on the Desert Living House Project being run by the School of Natural Resources and the Environment. Find it under the "Socially responsible gophers, etc.--Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science--Autonomous Dwelling/Sustainability links" directory. 11/22/2008 Dr. Michael Ben Eli has graciously given me permission to post his excellent slide presentation, _Design Science: A Framework for Change_, from my own website. Check under "Socially responsible gophers, etc./Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science," just before the "10 Principles for Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Leadership" link. 5/23/2008 After a complaint that I didn't have enough pictures in Facebook, I've tried to be a little better about it on my own gopher. You will now find self-portraits of my son, myself and my spouse using the photobucket software on my dad's Mac under the "About this gopher and myself" directory. Also included is a new picture of my spouse with the outgoing retiring rector and one of the support pastors at my church. I've also updated the new library team I'm on in the "A little about myself" file in the same directory. 4/2/2008 A brief embellishment of the prior update: a self-deployable version of the Tensegrity Block Parabolic Dome is posted to Google 3D Warehouse; the link is in the same directory. 3/26/2008 My Tensegrity Block Parabolic Dome is now posted to Google 3D Warehouse. See "Socially responsible gophers, etc./Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science/Tensegrity Blocks" for the link. I am grateful that SketchUp allows me to create a visualization that would probably take the rest of my natural life to physically build. On to figuring out how to mass-produce these suckers.... 2/22/2008 As part of my review process at the library, I offered to learn Google SketchUp to see how it might be useful to our architecture student patrons. My first project involved adapting my parabolic dome ideas and posting the results to Google 3D Warehouse. The link can be found in the Parabolic Domes directory under "Socially responsible gophers, etc./Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science." 1/9/2008 The oobject site, which calls itself the "Billboard Charts for Gadgets," features a picture of my self-deployable parabolic zigzag-strut tensegrity dome, which I linked to my tensegrity dome directory ("Socially responsible gophers, etc./Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science/Zigzag-Strut Tensegrites/Self-deployable parabolic zigzag-strut tensegrity dome"). 9/4/2007 Paula Wolfe, the Art/Photography/Architecture librarian, has linked to my restored preservation of the old UA Library Architecture page, originally created by Polly McCord that incorporated some of Ann Lally's material (both Polly and Ann were former architecture librarians; Ann is currently head of digital initiatives at the University of Washington), and was further enhanced by Paula and a bit by myself. See Paula's Architecture subject page at: http://www.library.arizona.edu/search/subjects/architecture/ ...and select "Ye Old Favorite Subject Page." You may also find it from my main menu under the Educational gophers as the "UA Architecture Collection page." 4/24/2007 The DMOZ Open Directory Project now lists my homepage from its Internet Gopher page, so I added it to the mutual link directory ("You link to mine...") and also to the navigational sites. Also under the navigational directory, I've added the JumpJet and quux.org gophers, and deleted the historical dead links I said I'd preserve below. 4/6/2007 Added the amazing Floodgap's GOPHERSPACE to the navigational tools directory, after discovering it through the Wikipedia entry on the Internet Gopher, along with the Public Gopher proxy. These replace the two dead links underneath, which I'm keeping in for historical record. 12/19/2006 Google Patent search link added to the Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory under the Socially Responsible gophers, etc. I discovered using this service that my pantegrity idea was patented by Tony S. Gwilliam and Russell Chu in 1987, U.S. Pat. #4,711,062; so it would, by now, be in the public domain anyway. It is unclear to me whether Dennis John Newland's "Self-Guyed Structures" patent (U.S. Pat. #7,013,608) is nullified, in part, by my 2005 posting on Tensegrity Blocks, since it wasn't issued by the USPTO until 2006. However, the European publication US2002002807 is dated 2002-01-10. I seem to have a habit of updating on my birthday. I'm 53, coincidentally matching my birth year of '53 (though, technically, I spent the last year living out the 53rd year and am now starting the 54th). 9/1/2006 After seven years, someone has commented on my parabolic dome instructions! I've added a recent clarification to the "Parabolic Domes" directory in response. Socially Responsible gophers, etc., Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science. 8/15/2006 Added "10 Principles for Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Leadership" to the Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory under the Socially Responsible gophers, etc. 6/14/2006 With telnet falling out of favor, it's necessary to have a good hierarchical index of library web catalogs. I added Libdex to the HyTelnets directory under Sample Navigational Tools. 12/10/2005 MIT removed page-by-page access to the Wong MIT thesis, so my linked version of Joe Moore's TOC will no longer work. I left in a link for downloading the entire document, which is huge. 11/19/2005 Bob Burkhardt's Tensegrity Tetrahedron page is linked from the Socially Responsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science, Zigzag-Strut Tensegrites directory, along with our Usenet discussion on stablility issues. 9/22/2005 My foldable pantegrity octet truss photo is now up in the Tensegrity Blocks directory (Socially Responsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science). 8/30/2005 New public-domain pictures of my self-deployable octas are up in the Socially Responsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science, Tensegrity Blocks directory. 8/24/2005 The concept of the pantegrity is introduced in my design update file under Socially Responsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science, Tensegrity Blocks directory. Pantegrities are in the public domain, naturally. 8/20/2005 My Hymn Hunter program, which I distributed for $50 at one time, is now available for free in the "Some ftp/software sites" directory. 8/6/2005 Further updates added to the file below. 7/23/2005 Added a design update file to the "Tensegrity Blocks" directory, Socially Responsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science. 2/25/2005 My web pages are fast approaching the decade mark. I'm not sure of the precise date, but it was around mid- to late-March 1995 when they came online, and they're still in Gopher splendor! Under the (where else?) Socially Responsible Gophers, etc., Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory, I've added a new "Tensegrity Blocks" directory detailing my latest tinkerings. Note to patent seekers: unique features of my work, if any, are in the PUBLIC DOMAIN. Thank you. 5/5/2004 Under the Socially Responsible Gophers, etc., Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory, I've added the European Patent Office Quicksearch engine. Related to that, I've added a link to the 2001 Raducanu/Motro patent and my unanswered email to Ren Motro in the Zigzag-Strut Tensegrities subdirectory. I have mixed feelings about this. Quite apart from the fact that I may never receive credit (much less cash!) for my public domain 2000 invention, I am absolutely thrilled that some of the best minds in the world are working on it. I am somewhat less than thrilled, however, that they are trying to keep everyone else from working on it. 12/19/2003 It's my 50th BD!! To celebrate, I've put up pictures of my self-deployable parabolic 2v zigzag-strut tensegrity dome model. See Socially Responsible Gophers, etc., Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science, and look under "Parabolic Domes" or "Zigzag-strut Tensegrities." 7/17/2003 Now exactly a year from the last update, and not a moment too soon! Ditto last year's update; those two directories are where most of the changes have been made, though there have been numerous updates throughout the website. Someday I'll do a major overhaul, but the gopher format stays. 7/17/2002 A year and one month since the last update notice, hmmm.... Tell ya what, just look at either the Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory under the Socially Responsible Gophers, etc., or at the Pseudoscience and its detractors directory under the Newsworthy Gophers, etc. That's where the lion's share of the updates will be. Dr. Donald Darrow of the University of Northern Iowa liked my pages on drafting the geodesic dome enough to adapt them to his own instuctional pages. See the mutual link directory ("You link to mine..." under the main menu). I've unarchived the old update file and appended it onto this one, so you can follow all the exciting updates that date back nearly to the creation of my pages in late March or April of 1995. 6/17/2001 One thing I dislike updating the most is the update file you're reading right now! Extensive undocumented updates have taken place, but the most recent is today. The Socially Responsible Gopher page had all the dead gopher bodies removed and replaced with their ugly web counterparts. Also, Neophytos Iacovou's essay, "Is Gopher Dead?," has been added to the "About this gopher" directory. (The obvious answer to his title question is: not as long as I'm around!) 12/13/2000 A little shameless hucksterism: my church recently released a couple of CDs of meditation music with yours truly in the bass section (also heard with finger cymbals on some tracks). See "About this gopher and myself" directory. Included is the only plain-text order form you'll find on the web, and just in time for Christmas! 8/28/2000 Also updated Autonomous Dwelling directory. Geo-Lite Systems now has its own web page! 8/14/2000 Big addition of the Zigzag-Strut Tensegrities directory to my Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science gopher located under Socially Responsible Gophers, etc. Updated this file for the first time in five months! Numerous other changes made to the site over that time; can't recall them now. 3/15/2000 thenaturalhome.com website added to the Autonomous Dwelling directory. 3/1/2000 The New Cleveland Freenet is now up and running. I put new web and registered user telnet links into the Community Gophers directory. 1/21/2000 Happy New Year (but not decade, century, or millennium which don't begin until 2001)! I added the GO translation service to the reference gophers. 11/19/1999 This is the last all-odd-digits date until 1/1/3111!! Changed the link to the web clock on the main menu to the new officious U.S. time page. Added the Newbury House Online Dictionary to my reference gophers, etc. 10/1/1999 Case Western Reserve University, in complete disregard for its customers, has discontinued the Cleveland Free-Net, the vanguard of public access computing. I have removed the links from "Community Gophers, etc." 8/24/1999 UA Human Resources page added to "It's a Job" directory under the Reference gophers. 7/9/1999 Hee, hee! Bragging rights are back! The Library of Congress lists me from one of their pages again. See the "You link to mine" directory. I'm also adding a link to its web page in the Educational gophers. My instructions on how to construct a parabolic dome are finally up. See under the Socially Responsible gophers/ Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science/Parabolic domes directories. My thanks to James Fischer for prompting me to get this done. 6/25/1999 Melodie's married and changed her last name to Rubin! (but that's old news.) She is added back to my mutual link directory. Added link to Homepower magazine, Socially Responsible Gophers/Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science/ Autonomous Dwelling directory. 5/3/1999 KVOA News transcripts--available a long time ago via FTP, have finally re-emerged on the Web. See Newsworthy Gophers, Gophers on the air. 4/2/1999 BBC News service added to the Newsworthy gophers, Gophers on the air. 2/16/1999 A small guide to common logical fallacies is now included as a text file in the pseudoscience directory. 2/8/1999 Updaded the link to Orrin R. Onken's "Big Dummy's Guide to Philosophy, Theology and Ethics." Thank goodness it's still available online! Under "Pseudoscience and its detractors," "Newsworthy gophers, etc." 2/5/1999 Article from the Arizona Daily Star added to the Dr. Johnson memorial page. 10/22/1998 Reference gophers now has a link to AltaVista's translation service. 9/3/1998 Added Mark Somers' web adaptation of Amy C. Edmondson's _A Fuller Explanation_, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory, off of Socially Responsible gophers, etc. A cool southwest Arizona weather page is added to the Weather gophers, including a nifty shot from atop the Gould- Simpson science building! (Trivia: I've personally met both Dr. Gould and Dr. Simpson in my lifetime.) 8/20/1998 Family reunion picture added to "About" directory! Cleaned up the Weather Gophers a little--an unfortunate victim of "link rot." 7/23/1998 New additions to the pseudoscience directory: another article from CSICOP's _Skeptical Inquirer_ on the Argument from Ignorance, and Orrin R. Onken's hilarious "Big Dummy's Guide to Philosophy, Theology and Ethics." 7/15/1998 Phew, lots of updates! The proxy gopher I had been using has closed. Sadly, the gopher-to-web gateway has also closed, but shouldn't affect anything for web users anyway. 7/6/1998 Added Supernews access to USENET in the Newsworthy gophers. 6/16/1998 Link to Jade Mountain added to the Autonomous Dwelling directory (Soc. Resp. gophers, Comp. Ant. Design Science) 6/2/98 New links to critical thinking guides are found in the Pseudoscience directory, Newsworthy gophers. 5/20/98 I've written up a small text file correcting the location and phone information for Geo-Lite Systems. See the Autonomous Dwelling directory, off of Soc. Resp. gophers, Comp. Ant. Design Science. 5/4/98 NASA's ArchiePlexForm added to the ftp sites directory. New directory on parabolic domes under Comp. Ant. Design Science, Soc. Resp. gophers. Pictures only for now. 4/20/98 Dr. Bob's guide to accessing the Internet via e-mail updated to lastest version. Under Reference Gophers. 4/1/98 Trimmed some of the dead links in the Navigational Tools. Sorry, no foolin'. 3/8/98 Really bad news, public access fans. Denver Free-net has closed for good. See http://freenet.uchsc.edu . I've deleted both gopher and telnet links from the Community Gophers, etc. 3/2/98 Replaced the dead and vastly superior Hearts of Space gopher with the web page (sigh). Institute of Hydroponics page dead; replace with General Hydroponics, Inc. page in the Autonomous Dwelling directory. 2/17/98 Robert W. Gray's amazing web adaptation of Fuller's _Synergetics_, both volumes, is now linked to in my Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directory (off the Soc. Responsible Gophers, etc). Rocketmail has merged with Yahoo! mail, and the link has been changed in the Reference gophers. 2/9/98 US animated gif can't be reached w/o lots of advertisements, and the "LATEST" link on the U of MI weather machine seems to have been fixed, so the original link to the infrared weather photo has been restored (Weather gophers, etc.). 2/4/98 U S West white pages added to the Reference gophers. Dead MENC ftp/gopher gateway replaced by SIL's gateway, "Some ftp/ software sites." 1/8/98 Updated the link to the Earthship Global Website, and added a link to the Hydroponic Society of America in my Autonomous Dwelling directory (Socially Reponsible gophers, Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science). 1/2/98 Under the pseudoscience directory is a link to a lot of skeptical resources. ABC News is now in the Gophers-on-air directory. 12/1/97 Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy added to the reference gophers. 11/21/97 Where to add the Habitat for Humanity International link, I ask myself. It's certainly socially responsible, but I envision it becoming even more. Find it under Soc. Resp. Gophers/Comp. Anticipatory Design Sci./ Autonomous Dwelling. Maybe it takes more than one Fuller to change the world! :-) Finally broke down and added Ask Jeeves search engine to my Search the Web directory. 11/18/97 New link now available to the Merriam-Webster dictionary and thesaurus. Not nearly as speedy and convenient as the Webster gopher out of Memphis shut down almost two years ago, but usually faster than the EB site. Find it under the Reference gophers. Also updated the link to the UA career services list under Reference gophers, It's a job. 10/14/97 Added a link to Geo-Lite Systems under the Soc. Resp. Gophers/Comp. Anticipatory Design Science/Autonomous Dwelling directory. Thanks to October 1997 Popular Science mag for featuring their Ecolodge. Bucky Fuller fans will recognize this immediately, with one exception: it uses propane! Bad design feature! 9/3/97 Laurie Eagleson's excellent page of my home at work, the Music Library, is listed under the redundant UA links of the Educational gophers, etc. 8/12/97 Added two more web/e-mail gateways to the Reference Gophers: RocketMail and MailCity. Under Soc. Resp. Gophers/Comp. Anticipatory Design Science/Autonomous Dwelling, there is a link to the Growing Edge magazine. 7/25/97 Merry Christmas in July! Added a Java-Web version of the NIST to the main menu. First change to my homepage in over a month, and the first change to the main menu in well over a year. (When ya got Gopher, why would any change be necessary? Answer: because the rest of the world's bailing out of a good system. Netscrape 3.something won't even allow gopher calls to odd ports anymore.) 6/18/97 democracy.net added to the Socially Responsible gophers, etc. 6/13/97 Lucky Friday! Added link to the Bad Astronomy page in the Pseudoscience direcory. 6/1/97 UofA CoSy shut down; link removed. 5/30/97 Updated the Pseudoscience directory to include the excellent "Skeptic's Dictionary," found, amazingly enough, linked to Art Bell's own web page. Another link was put in to the alt.fan.art-bell newsgroup if your browser allows newsgroups (if not, see alternate newsgroup access under the Newsworthy Gopher directory). Also added a link to the "Ultra Low-Cost Construction" page off of my Design Science/Autonomous Dwelling directory. 5/19/97 Added the Society for Scientific Exploration link to my Pseudoscience & Detractors directory. 5/13/97 Finally replaced the current weather photo (off the Weather Machine gopher), which has been out-of-order for some time now, with a neat animated GIF. 5/1/97 Steve Talbott, a Lynx user after my own heart, is the editor of the NETFUTURE newsletter, which can now be found under the "About this gopher and myself" directory, just before the writings of that other wise net- sage, Karen Coyle. 4/22/97 New directory, "Pseudoscience and its detractors," has been added to the Newsworthy gophers in response to my discovery of Art Bell's radio programs which, while highly entertaining in the manner of camp fire ghost stories, nonetheless promulgate an unhealthy degree of unsupportable fear mongering. 3/31/97 Removed the deceased Spacelink gopher from the Newsworthy gophers. Added gopher proxy access to the Nasa News, Earthquakes Around the World, and Very Recent Southern California Earthquake files for those GUI browsers that disable the gopher finger function. 3/14/97 Moved the Librarians' Hompage Directory out of the Ed. gophers and into the mutual link directory (since I'm listed there). Pruned some of the inactive weather gophers. 3/12/97 EDUCOM has butchered its fine gopher (yeah, so what else is new?), so I reluctantly replaced it with a Web link. When NASA kills its spacelink gopher at the end of March, it will be permanently removed. 2/25/97 Updated link to the Tucson-Pima Public Library. 2/17/97 The hopelessly outdated instructions on how to receive banned newsgroups seems to have been deleted from the server it was on, so I deleted the link from the Reference Gophers. 2/15/97 HoTMaiL, the world's free (and, as far as I can tell, only) web-based e-mail server, is added to the Reference Gophers just after Dr. Bob's instructions on accessing the Internet by e-mail. HoTMaiL represents the very essence of what my homepage is all about. 2/4/97 It's back! It's back! The excellent gopher-to-Web gateway out of Washington and Lee University is back up at a new address! Check out the Sample Navigational Tools directory. Who says there's no such thing as a happy ending?! 1/27/96 NPR's gopher seems to have died and been replaced with a very gopher-like web page. See Gophers on the air directory. I resisted the temptation to mark it "(DIR)." 1/22/96 Updated DejaNews link in the Newsworthy Gophers. Added link to the Earthship homepage in my new Autonomous Dwelling/Sustainability directory, found under the Design Science directory which was also updated to include Joe S. Moore's new version of the Buckminster Fuller Virtual Institute. 1/16/96 The Webster gopher interface (out of Memphis) was forced off-line by the Encyclopaedia Britannica folks... which means the rest of us are forced to live with EB's clumsy and slow web interface. It was under the Reference Gophers. 1/13/97 UA refrence librarian Jeff Rosen and Purdue network access librarian Carl E. Snow put together an interesting list of reference resources on the Web, linked to under my Reference Gophers, etc. A directory of Internet Navigation Tools from the UA English Department has been added under the Search the WWW, Sample Navigational Tools directories. 1/11/97 Perhaps the most interesting stop on the WWW, IBM's Patent Server Home Page, is linked to in my Design Science directory. 1/8/97 Created new Autonomous Dwelling/Sustainability links directory under the Socially Responsible Gophers, etc., Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science directories. Links to the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and others have been moved/added there. 1/3/97 The University of Arizona Caucus web conferencing system link is added to the Misc. BBSs, Community gophers. Because it's web- based, it's s-l-o-w. HNY, cybernauts! 12/18/96 Very nice rendition of a fifty-frequency Isotropic Vector Matrix geodesic sphere by Jonathan B. Thompson is now in the Design Science directory. 12/11/96 My sketch of the cuboctahedron (Fuller's "vector equilibrium") is in the Design Science directory, Soc. Responsible gophers. 12/2/96 *Bad* news from Canada: The Molson Brewing Company removed their version of the Canadianiser for unspecified copyright reasons. Sorry, hosers; I'll try to find another one, eh? 11/26/96 Updated link to my brother's homepage in Canada--though he *still* doesn't have e-mail. Under "Gophers, etc. on the air." 11/21/96 Updated link to OMRI Daily Digest (Newsworthy Gophers, etc.). 11/12/96 Staff Advisory Council (SAC) page added to the UA Redundant links. 11/5/96 NIST time restored to CO. machine. The Outer Limits chat board has become too high-tech for Lynx, so I dumped the link from the "Gophers on the air" directory. The excellent gopher-to-Web gateway out of Washington and Lee University seems to be down indefinitely, so I removed that link from the Navigational Tools. If it comes back up, I'll restore it. 10/30/96 Not much time to update my pages nowadays... a few dead links in there I hope to see come up again in the near future. Deleted the telnet link to the U. of MD's HyTelnet (they're paranoid about letting you telnet from their machine) and replaced it with a link to HyTelnet at Oxford University. Login as "hytelnet" and enjoy. Not an update, but I thought I'd mention that the DejaNews service will now allow posting to USENET via the Web. 10/14/96 Changed the NIST time link to a local machine until the one in CO. comes back up. 9/25/96 University Departments and Courses of Instruction added to the Redundant UA Links. 9/21/96 Student Recreation Center added to the Redundant UA Links. WWPing back (again) under Navigational Tools. Web version of Sabio catalog removed; Library Web Page is good enough. 9/12/96 In celebration of China blocking major portions of the Internet, I've added a proxy gopher under "Navigational Tools." Using the same proxy, I put in a link to the VOA gopher (one of the known sites China is blocking) in the "Gophers on the air" directory. ASU not only massacred their fine gopher, they won't even write back to me to admit they did it. The web HyTelnet directory out of the ROC mysteriously disappeared, so I deleted the link. The telnet version is still available, but I'd like to avoid those unless things start to get desperate. There is still the version listed from the University of Maryland. 9/9/96 Happy Kite Day! Webcom's "power index" is reluctantly added to "Search the WWW" directory. It lists sources not covered in my list which may be useful at times. 8/27/96 Online Career Center slaughtered its gopher. Damn rodents are dropping like flies. Still holding out hope for the gopher at ASU. 8/21/96 UA Job Links directory added to "It's a job" under the Reference Gophers. 8/19/96 Bad news, CoSy fans. Softwords CoSy, the so-called "Home of CoSy," has closed its doors for good, I'm afraid. They said it was being used too much for Internet connections that were available by other means. My telnet link has been removed. Well, that's a dumb reason to kill off an entire BBS! Why not simply restrict or eliminate the WWW browser? 8/12/96 Library of Congress deleted link to my page! There go my bragging rights.... I returned the favor and deleted them from the mutual link directory, though you can still access LC Marvel Gopher from here. Tucson Weekly link updated; the DesertNet index has collapsed into its hideous home page. Q: Can someone who considers HTML an almost worthless hack maintain a standard garden-variety web page? A: Almost certainly not, but you be the judge. See my work-related project under "About this gopher and myself," or up just one level from here. 8/2/96 Telnet link to Norfield Citizens Online included. 7/24/96 KVOA-TV link changed already! 7/19/96 Northfield Citizens Online added to the Community gophers. Good ol' Northfield... utopia! :-) 7/16/96 Welcome to my homepage's new home! Updated the gophers on-the-air by adding KVOA News Transcripts (they used to be ftp-accessible; now they're web thingies. Only current transcripts are available, unlike the old ftp site). Removed the Mother Jones gopher which appears not breathing at the moment-- prognosis looks grim. 7/11/96 Updated the link to KUAT communications and several web page title changes in the UA redundant links. 7/9/96 Deleted interactive atlas link. It's not free if ya have to sign up.... Added Decision and Planning Support page to the UA redundant links. Updated link to the Federation of American Scientists web site. Added Christian Science Monitor to the Newsworthy gophers. 7/5/96 Updated the interactive atlas link in Ref. gophers (AGAIN... grr...), and added a link to the home page of my church here in Tucson under the Soc. Responsible gophers. 7/1/96 update file redone (archived old copy; available upon request if you really want it...). Deleted hopelessy outdated faq on receiving banned newsgroups; even link to itself is out-of-date, but preserved present-day link to it. See "Reference gophers, etc." Adding new directory, "You link to mine & I'll link to yours," which should be self-explanatory. 6/27/96 Images of my dome model, templates, and drawing have been added to the Design Science directory (in turn under Soc. Responsible Gophers). Thursday, June 27th, 1996 Images of my dome model, templates, and drawing have been added to the Design Science directory (in turn under Soc. Responsible Gophers). Tuesday, June 25th, 1996 It's go-o-o-one! WWPing out again. Added the Human Rights gopher to the Socially Responsible gophers. The Outer Limits message board added to Gophers, etc. on the Air. Monday, June 24th, 1996 This update file is beginning to get long enough to make the useless web pages. It's history soon! Added Wired Mag's HotBot search engine to Search the WWW. Monday, June 3rd, 1996 It's ba-a-a-ack! WWPing out of the UK in Sample Navigational Tools. Friday, May 24th, 1996 Redirected the ACLU Freedom Network link to their text-only homepage. Saturday, May 18th, 1996 Tucson-Pima Public Library Homepage added to the Ed. gophers. Wednesday, May 15th, 1996 FirstSearch Web interface added to the Reference Tools.
