How to copy a Google Chrome extension from one instllation to a different installation

  • Open chrome://version in the first Google Chrome.

  • Copy the value of 'Profile Path' and open it and navigate inside the subdirectory Extensions/.

  • Open chrome://extensions/ in the first Google Chrome, find the extension, open its 'Details' page, and find the ID of it.

  • Find the subdirectory in Extensions/ by the ID.

  • Copy the directory of the version of the extension you want to install to a temproary location, say in your home directory.

  • Copy the directory to the other computer where the other Google Chrome installation is.

  • Open the other Google Chrome, open chrome://extensions/, open Developer Mode.

  • Click 'Load unpacked' and navigate to the directory of the extension copied from the previous step, and install it. Note it should be the directory instead of anything inside it.
