Well, I can't tell you WHEN it was, but I'll say it was January of 1997,
and I saw them in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and they played Sno Jam 3,
opening for Good Riddance and SNFU. They also played with the Wheat
Chiefs and Field Day. In a word, they show rocked. The pit was nice and
rough, but not too bad. Diesel Boy came on and the lead singer stepped up
to the mic and quietly said "hello? is this thing on?" and then proceeded
to scream "AAAAHHHH!! WE'RE JUST A PUNK ROCK BAND FROM CALIFORNIA!" And
then slammed into their set. Diesel Boy hadn't stood out in my mind as
anything special; I always figured they were cliche So-Cal punk. But
live, they produced a new kind of punk energy that you rarely see in
shows these days. All in all, Diesel Boy kicked ass, as did the rest of
the show.

rating is a definite 10 on this one!!! the venue was Penn State
Hazleton Commons, Name is Travis Argust and the date was April 8th,
1997. For a measly $4, for 4 bands, the show was a deal. The opening
band, Hard Pack, of course sucked (I was told to say that cuz it's my
band). The Overdrives, which in my opinion are the next band to watch
in Pennsylvania, Big Wig (they Rule...no more need to be said) and
Diesel Boy!! Big Wig and Diesel Boy combined ran away with the show,
creating a relentless assault on the crowd. This show will definitely
be one I will NEVER forget, and being able to play with Diesel Boy was
well worth it. One interesting point of the evening though was in
talking before the show with Diesel Boy, they shared that Bad Religion
asks for $18,000 PER SHOW!!! Diesel Boy played a short set in front of
a small crowd, and even due to their power plug being pulled out of the
socket by a sea of bodies, they were able to bounce back and still pull
together. This was the absolute best show, and to think I got to see it
all for free!! Diesel Boy were the coolest, most down to earth people
I've ever met in any band, and I welcome them back anytime to rock the
shit outta my ass.

Diesel Boy "strap on your seven inch"
A Unique style, poppy, swingy, melodic, and punky. I'd say it's the best
7" on Fat wrech chords. The singer makes you want to sing these songs all
day long. You wont regret buying this!
