11/86 - 7/91 TECHNICAL WRITER, Gateway Systems Corp., Lansing
Wrote software manuals for Gateway clients, including Knight Ridder Corporation, Proctor & Gamble Corp., Dexter Shoe Company, and Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co. (3M). Projects included technical documentation for programmers and user guides for computer novices. Wrote and designed manuals, brochures, and newsletters for users of the SYNERGIST application generator.

8/85 - 11/86 TECHNICAL WRITER, BORIS Systems, Inc., Lansing.
Wrote brochures, user manuals, and training materials for real estate agents who use BORIS software. Created and produced a newsletter for customers. Coordinated typesetting, illustration, and production of company publications. Created a new system for tracking manual distribution and costs.

5/83 - 8/85 CIRCULATION DIRECTOR, Vanguard Publications, Lansing.
Created and managed direct mail advertising campaigns to sell magazine and newsletter subscriptions. Developed concepts, wrote brochure copy, coordinated production, and did financial analysis. Oversaw the production of newsletters and magazines, including: scheduling, editing, layout, art selection, printing, and distribution. Supervised customer service.

5/82 - 11/82 REPORTER, Times-Union, Rochester, N.Y.
Covered government and schools for a daily newspaper with a circulation of 195,000. Conducted interviews and research; wrote features and breaking news; met daily deadlines.
