He married Agnes Davidson (1804-1877). On Jan 30th 1855, he purchased from R. N. Pope, lot # 677, 12th range of Ireland Township, Que. He also purchased lot # 627 on the 11th range of Ireland Township, on March 25, 1867 from John Smith Sr. for the sum of $200.00. Both William and his wife Agnes are laid to rest at Bullard Brook Cemetery. Their children were: 1) William (1829-1912) 2) Ann 3) Isaac Warren (1848-1921) m. Eliza Ashcroft (1850-1936) Isaac Warren Cox was born in 1848 and married Eliza Ashcroft. They were married at the Parkhurst Methodist Church in St. Sylvester and settled on lot # 677 received from his father on December 30, 1879. Michel Nurse Toronto, Ont. Fredrik Douglas Cox (9b) b. 1921 and Grace Ellen Mimnaugh of Inverness b. 1932, ere married by Rev. Carmichael at St-Andrews Church in 1963. Douglas and Grace settled on lot # 677 purchased from his mother in 1961. Farming was for the hardy, and they were that for sure, as this is the 5th generation of Cox's on this property. Douglas and his son, Dale, farm 400 acres of land, of which 75 acres of it is in hay. This farm also supports a beef herd. Douglas operates a maple bush on lot # 670, 12th range of Ireland Township and has 2700 tapped trees, all on a vacuum system operated by gas. He has served on the municipal council for seventeen years and was very active as a school commissioner for ten years. During the winter months, Douglas is busy cutting logs and prepares evergreens to be shipped to Montreal. His wife Grace, had for many years before her marriage taught school in the following areas: Danville School in Asbestos for three years, Princess Elizabeth in Magog for one year, Galt in Valleyfield for four years, Cape Valcartier at the army base for two years. Grace attended Bishops University prior to her teaching years.
