BROWN ------- Pioneer Woman, Who Passed Away Friday, Is Laid To Rest ------- Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the First Baptist church in Bridgeport with Rev. W. E. Schumann in charge, for Mrs. Lettisha Brown, who passed away at her home, here, last Friday. Mrs. Brown, a resident for the past thirty-three years, had been ill for the past five years and her condition had become increasingly serious during the past several months. Mrs. Brown was eighty-four years old at the time of her death. Interment was in the Oregon Trail Memorial Park at the side of her husband, Henry Brown, who preceded her in death in 1929. Lettisha Yaunt was born at Crown Point, Indiana on September 6, 1860, the daughter of Daniel and Lettisha Yaunt. She accompanied her parents to Waterloo, Iowa when she was 12 years of age and made her home in that city until June of 1879, when she became the bride of Henry Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Subsequently, the Brown family moved to Nebraska and Mrs. Brown had been a resident of the state for 57 years. She became a member of the Baptist church in 1888 and lived a consistent Christian life. Surviving are five sons and one daughter. They are Frank of San Francisco, Calif.; W. F. of Pendleton, Oregon; G. H. of Winton, Calif.; Lewis of Washington, D. C. and Dan J. of Bridgeport, Mrs. J. E. Rasmussen of Naponee, Nebraska. There are 24 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. One daughter preceded her mother in death. A daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank Brown of San Francisco, who was visiting in Denver at the time of Mrs. Brown's death, came here for the services. The W. A.
