Why and How to License the Utility

Why

There are a number of valuable advantages to licensing the Archive Utility:

Gain access to the command line interface allowing you to automate and schedule archive operations.
Enable unlimited DTS package documentation scripts. In unlicensed mode the Archive is limited to one local package scripted to VB and one Metadata Repository package scripted to VB.
Enjoy the secure feeling that you have a full historical backup of all stored procedures, tables and user permissions for any SQL Server.
Have a history of changes to your system to satisfy even the most critical system audits.
Access to additional reporting tools and great tips on getting more from your DDL archive
You're company's name included in all scripts produced.
Get unlimited email based support and free access to all upgrades for 1 year from the day you license the product.

How

The Archive Utility base license fee is $50.00 US for a license to archive one SQL Server instance. All licensing is per SQL Server instance. Multiple server discounts are available (see below). Purchase a license for a single SQL Server Instance by selecting the "PayPal buy now" button below. Include the person's name you wish to designate as the primary contact in your organization and the SQL Server name - including the instance name if not the default instance - in the space provided. Note that you must also complete the shipping information after you go to the PayPal site in order to receive your license code. The company name you provide in the shipping address will become the licensed company and will be included in all scripts generated with the licensed utility. A user license code will be forwarded to you by regular US Mail within 7 business days. In most cases, the license code will be mailed the day the order is placed. Additionally, if you need an expedited turn around on your license code please request to receive your license code(s) by email in the space provided for "Additional Instructions" on the PayPal website when entering your payment information.

Licensing for use with one SQL Server instance

Note: If you don't see the "PayPal buy now" button above you are not able to license the Archive Utility on-line either because the machine where the utility is running cannot connected to the Internet or PayPal is currently unavailable. Please contact me at bwunder@yahoo.com and I'll personally assist you in getting the licenses you need.

Licensing for use with more than one SQL Server

Should you require License Codes for multiple SQL Servers you may use any of the following purchase options:

purchase License Code's one at a time using the "PayPal buy now" button above

Use the above "PayPal buy now" button specifying "multiple servers" in the "SQL Server [\Instance name]" input box. Then after you are taken to the PayPal website you can specify the names of the SQL Server instances to be licensed in the space provided for "Additional Instructions" on the PayPal website when entering your payment information.

Contact me by email at bwunder@yahoo.com with your complete company mailing address, your name, and the name of each SQL Server instance that you wish to license. I will reply with an email statement and include a PayPal link for your use in submitting the correct payment amount.

Quantity purchase price schedule

All orders for 5 to 9 licenses will qualify for a 5% discount off the total amount for all licenses purchased. The discount increases to 10% for a licensing order for 10 to 19 SQL Server instances. License orders for 20 or more SQL Server instances may be purchased as a site license with an additional savings. Additional licensing considerations

Always enter the Registered Company name and the Primary User name into the Configurator input boxes exactly as they appear on the License Certificate. The names are case sensitive. The License Code is valid only for the exact Company Name and User Name that you provided when purchasing the license.

The License Code for any SQL Server instance, including the default instance is valid only for that instance.

A license may be transferred to another SQL Server instance one time within the first 6 months of the date of purchase of the original license.

The Primary User name can be changed at any time. Please contact me by email at bwunder@yahoo.com and include the name of each SQL Server instance as well as the existing Primary User's name and the new Primary User's name you would like to used in the registration for the listed SQL Servers. Please note that changing the Primary User's name requires that you enter the new Primary User's name and a new License Code that I will send you for all SQL Server's. Please note that the current License Code will become invalid if you attempt to change the Primary User name before you get the new License Code.
