Bajoran freedom fighter who was assigned as first officer and Bajoran liason to station DS9 after the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor in 2369. Stubborn and independent, Major Kira had been fighting the Cardassians since she was 12, and had opposed the Bajoran Provisional Government's decision to enlist Federation assistance in maintaining DS9.
As a member of the Bajoran Shakaar resistance group in 2357, Kira
helped liberate the notorious Gallitep labor camp, at which thousands
of Bajorans had died under Cardassian bondage...She spent much of her
childhood as a freedom fighter for the Bajoran movement, although Cardassian
intelligence reported her a "a minor operative whose activities are limited to
running errands for the terrorist leaders."

Never let it be said that the Major doesn't get involved with the action.
She's gone through shuttle craft crashes, broke a hip, got kidnapped and
tortured by the Circle, constantly chased after by Quark,
phasered by the Maquis, and insulted by Vedek Winn.
Here she's getting hit by Jem'Hadar phaser fire. Obviously low power...
This woman has been through enough!
Not only is she an orphan, but has been transformed into a Cardassian,
at which point Garak decided she was rather "ravishing" in
Second Skin,
Gotten completely encased in some sort of crystal while Odo
discussed his emotional state and Federation crime reports,
Her boss's son made a pass at her (and a very good one it was, too!)
with Glop-on-a-Stick....
Got hit on by one of the Riker boys....but then, hasn't one or the
other, or both, of the Rikers
managed to make a pass at just about every female in the Alpha Quadrant?
Got hit on by Bashir, who has wanted
to make a pass at just about every female in the Alpha Quadrant...
Even Sisko got into the act - altho with the Intendant, and not
"our" Kira...
Threw a really great party,
On the other hand, she does play a mean game of Springball. As soon
as we find the complete set of rules, we'll post them here.
It's a tossup - O'Brien in shorts and tshirt for racquetball
or Bareil in spandex for springball.
We do know that the endgame moves in Springball are
definitely more interesting than racquetball....
Which helped her decide that the religious world was much more
interesting than the secular...
Ended up talking to herself -- But which one lost the argument...?
And who can forget Kira's debut as a Bashir Girl? Hm....seems Julian is
much more comfortable (and expert) kissing Kira as Our Man Bashir
than he is/was in Fascination under the influence.
