Bombing Bagdad

Why should we bomb with death?
I long to hear the gentle sound
Of bigmacs raining down.
And scatter shots of trinkets.
And bursts of music and of scent
Toward the mall victorious.

Why should we bomb with death?
So many other things would missile to the hearts of people...
Blankets of polar fleece,
Soccer balls,
Croissants and cracker jacks,
The sizzle and the prize.

Why should we bomb with death?
We are such good cultural imperialists...
Whetting appetites,
Gorging greed,
Producing surfeit and excess.
Manna worked for God; why not us?
