No.

The cold, hard truth is pasted below.  It is my hope that it does
not cause too many shock waves.

The truth:
Bob Smyth is not a real person.
Bob Smyth is an internet persona created by (shock wave #1):

  ALS.  (here the audience gasps)

Bob Smyth is kinda like the Pac Bell employee who works at home and is
actually Dilbert's dog (named "Dogbert").  No one knows this of course
because Dogbert comes to work via the internet.

I (ALS that is) created Bob Smyth as part of an assignment for a
Creative Writing class at Cal State Hayward.

I'm sorry to say that I ended up getting a C- in that class.

You need proof?

The proof is right before your eyes.  I (ALS that is) am posting
this article from Bob's account.  You will see my signature at
the end of this article.

So, TM, you ask a simple yes/no question and you got your answer.

I suggest some more intriguing questions below:

Why would a guy wear plaid pajamas to a strip-club?

Why would a stripper strip out of plaid pajamas on center stage?

What do strippers think of a guy wearing soft, flannel plaid pajamas?

What does management think of plaid pajamas?

Federal Law prohibits mbt from admitting men who wear shorts.
Should Gingrich submit a similar bill which applies to plaid pajamas?

In what situations would it be appropriate for a guy to wear
plaid pajamas? The job interview? The sales call? Church? The first date?

These are important questions which merit serious discussion.

In fact it's possible that the stock price of cisco.com could go
up 1 or 2 points in response to the network traffic generated by this
one post.

But then again maybe we should talk about GIRLS!
