Ladies' Silver Blades Bylaws

  1. A person may skate as a guest of the club twice, but must pay the rink fee of $5.00 each time.
  2. All persons must pay membership dues by the third time they skate.
  3. Annual membership dues are payable in September. If paying in two installments, installment amounts will be determined by the Board. The first payment (including the fees for USFS) is due in September and the second payment is due in January. New members starting in January or later will pay a reduced amount which will include the USFS fees.
  4. Membership dues are not refundable.
  5. All members and guests are expected to sign in each week.
  6. Each member will be expected to bring refreshments as needed during the season, and to assist the hospitality committee with setup and cleanup.
  7. Any questions or complaints should be brought to the attention of the Board or a Board member,and will be taken care of by the Board.
  8. Issues to be voted on by the general membership shall be determined by the governing Board.
  9. Funds for the Pro gifts will be collected on a voluntary basis both at Christmastime and the end of the season in the spring.
  10. No private lessons will be allowed during club times.
  11. Officers (president, vice president, secretary, treasurer) will be elected by a majority vote, either oral or written, upon their acceptance.
  12. Members are encouraged to serve on at least one of the following commitees during the year: Music, Hospitality, Publicity, Membership, Fun & Games, Show & Costumes, and Gifts & Flowers.
  13. Board meetings shall be held once a month. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially when business pertains to them.
  14. Officers can serve no more than 2 years consecutively in the same office.
  15. Committee chairpersons are appointed by the Board and can serve indefinitely.
  16. All new Board members are to read the Ladies' Silver Blades Bylaws and the Officers' Duties and sign that they have read them before performing their duties.
  17. A majority vote of the Club members attending the Board meetings is required prior to any expenditures.
  18. All persons who pay their USFS dues through another organization will have their LSB dues decreased by that amount.
  19. Any active member in good standing with a membership of five (5) years who has reached the age of 85 will receive an Honorary membership. Their USFSA membership will be paid out of the LSB treasury and their annual dues will be waived.
  20. All LSB members and their guests skate at their own risk.
